Dr. Gary Chapman wrote the book 5 Love Languages in 2014. This book talks about the different ways people love each other and the preferences in how they wish to accept love. It dives into emotional relationships, giving readers a way to better communicate with the people around them. For an overview on the five languages, written by Chapman himself check out this article. At the TeamStrength Leadership Workshop 2017, Speaker Renee Russell went over these languages with a professional focus. Instead of Love, the languages turned into those of appreciation and detailed how employees can better communicate with their employees about accomplishments, problem areas, and new focuses. In both types of languages, you might be surprised how the people around you feel. Take the time to get to know the 5 Languages of Appreciation here.
